In 2007, we introduced our Discover Human Rights toolkits at the Fair as part of our U Do Have Rights/UDHR campaign to educate Americans about their rights under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), specifically the rights to Housing, Education, Health, and Food. The theme of our 2006 State Fair booth was “Immigration Fuels Our Nation.”  Through educational materials and activities, we educated visitors on the many positive aspects of immigration.  The Advocates for Human Rights has been advocating for immigrants and refugees for over 20 years.  Click here for more information about the Immigration Fuels Our Nation Campaign.

In our first year at the Fair, The Advocates launched the “Torture Destroys Us All” campaign for a torture-free world. The Advocates for Human Rights developed the campaign with assistance from the Midwest Coalition for Human Rights for people and groups to use as they raise awareness about the issue of torture. Click here for more information about the Torture Destroys Us All Campaign.
