Nadifa Osman is the Community Coordinator for the Refugee Population Study at University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, Division of Epidemiology.  She has become an ardent member of the Somali Community in the United States, serving its members, more particularly women and children. Nadifa is currently the Executive Director of Women of Africa Resource Development Association (WARDA), where she conducts academic achievement, tutoring, as well as cultural and self-awareness programs with Somali women and girls.  Ms. Osman also teaches Somali mothers parenting and resilience in parenting through Family Services Inc. She works in partnership with Womankind Kenya, and is a member of Rotary International and the International Leadership Institute.  Born in Somalia, Nadifa studied engineering and received a degree in telecommunications and a masters degree in energy management.  Nadifa has been an active volunteer with Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights since 2000, and currently serves on the organization’s Refugee and Immigrant Program Steering Committee.
