Elisabeth Duban is the Staff Attorney for the Women’s Program of Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights.  Her work has included documentation of domestic violence and trafficking in women in Armenia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan as well as work in Mexico on the economic and social rights of women and children.  She co-authored two reports on domestic violence in Armenia and Uzbekistan as well as a report that examines the issue of preventable child death as a human rights violation in Mexico.  Ms. Duban previously worked for the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern University School of Law where she conducted research on various human rights topics, including Council of Europe case-law from Central and Eastern European member states, and was one of two attorneys to represent the Consul General of Poland in litigation over the death penalty imposed on a foreign national.
