Every year the fate of over 6,000 unaccompanied children is determined by federal immigration authorities. An overwhelming 90 percent of these children do not have legal representation to help them navigate immigration court proceedings. The speakers will discuss the plight of these children, recent legislation addressing the needs of these children, and initiatives on the part of non-governmental agencies to help meet legal and other needs. Complimentary lunch will be provided for those who pre-register. Application will be made for 1.0 CLE credit.
