Economic and Social Rights in the U.S.

Many Americans are familiar with civil and political rights.  The rights to freedom and equality are enshrined in our Constitution.  But what about the right to education?  The right to housing, food, and health?  This presentation covers what are often called “second-generation” rights - the minimum standards for economic and social conditions that guarantee people are able to live in dignity.  This presentation also includes an assessment of how the United States is doing in fulfilling economic and social rights in this country.

Suggested Audience:  General audience.
